SPG Share the Wealth: up to 5,000 bonus points for new China resident members

Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) members who are mainland China residents have a SPG Share the Wealth bonus points promotion opportunity to earn unlimited points for new SPG member referrals of other mainland China residents.

The person who refers a new member gets 1,000 points for each new SPG member enrolled by December 31, 2012 and who completes a stay at a Starwood Hotel by February 15, 2013. New member referrals must be completed by email through the SPG Share the Wealth link.

Your friend can enroll at SPG.com or by phone.

The new SPG member earns 1,000 bonus Starpoints for each Starwood Hotel stay by February 15, 2013, up to a maximum 5,000 bonus points after 5 hotel stays. Starwood Hotels globally look to be qualifying stays for the 5,000 bonus points based on no restrictions mentioned in the promotion terms and conditions.

Anyone in China considering signing up for Starwood Preferred Guest should locate another SPG member first and get referred. Getting another mainland China resident to refer you to SPG membership allows you to earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints per stay, up to 5,000 bonus points. Those are enough points for an SPG category 5 Cash & Points award for 4,800 points + $90 USD.

The new member bonus points are in addition to many other SPG bonuses you may be eligible to earn for the same hotel stays.

Oct 1 – Dec 20 SPG double points for 1 and 2 night stays; triple points for stays of 3 nights or more. Plus there is a 250 points online booking bonus for spg.com or 500 points for SPG iPhone app bookings. Loyalty Traveler post August 23. 250 additional points with Four Square check-in.

Starpoints have a fair market value around $25 to $30 per 1,000 points.

This is share the wealth with Starpoints.

You and your friend must live in mainland China.
