Earn 2,000 Miles&More with Hilton stays Oct 1-Dec 31. 2012

Miles & More, the frequent flyer program for Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, LOT Polish and some other European regional airlines, has one of the best earning schemes with the various frequent flyer bonuses from Hilton HHonors in Q-4 2012.

Miles & More earners can earn 2x miles on your second stay (1,000 total miles for fixed miles earners), 3x miles on third stay (1,500 miles) and 4x miles on all additional stays for 2,000 total miles per stay from October 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.

Hilton HHonors Miles & More promotion registration is required before your hotel stays.

This is the best of the frequent flyer bonuses I have seen so far from Hilton HHonors. There is no limit on the number of miles you can earn. Hilton frequent guests can earn 1,500 bonus miles for every stay from the 4th stay rather than 5 bonus points as a Points & Points earner. The miles are likely a better deal than earning Points & Points if your stays are less than $400 and you will have more than 4 Hilton brand stays in the last three months of 2012.

Two restrictions to keep in mind when choosing to earn Miles & More credit from Hilton brand stays:

These three Hilton brands do not earn miles with Miles & More.

  • Hampton Inn (this knocks out 50% of all Hilton brand hotels worldwide)
  • Homewood Suites
  • Home2 Suites

Miles & More does not participate in Points & Variable Miles meaning you will get the fixed miles and bonus.

Hilton HHonors/Miles & More Promotion earning scheme:

  • Hilton Stay #1 = 500 Miles & More fixed miles.
  • Hilton Stay #2 = 1,000 miles (500 Miles & More fixed miles + 500 bonus miles.)
  • Hilton Stay #3 = 1,500 miles (500 Miles & More fixed miles + 1,000 bonus miles.)
  • Hilton Stay #4 = 2,000 miles (500 Miles & More fixed miles + 1,500 bonus miles.)
  • All additional qualifying stays during the promotion period earn 2,000 total miles as in Hilton Stay#4.

This looks like a great offer from Hilton HHonors for earning miles as long as you can avoid the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites for the next few months.

  1. Could all of these promotions be combined and take care one after another? What are something to watch out for if I finish the Virgin-Atlantic Promotion and want to do the 4X miles promotion?

    Thanks

  2. @Ruy – I wondered myself if you can do multiple frequent flyer promotions. I do not know the answer.

Time to visit FlyerTalk to see what the experts have to say.

  3. Ric,

I stay at Hampton Inns fairly frequently. Used to credit to Southwest with points & miles prior to SW & Hilton ending their relationship. Then switched preference to points & miles with bmi, but bmi earning stops on October 27.

Remaining alternatives for points & miles seem lackluster. Thinking about changing preference to points only.

I’d appreciate your take on this. I’m sure there are others, like me, out there too.

    Thanks!
