Hilton HHonors has a social treasure hunt happening in Washington D.C. today. You need to be in D.C., take a photo of yourself by a monument, tweet the photo and go to the Hilton Garden Inn in D.C.

Use Twitter hashtags #HHfreenight and #WashingtonDC to follow the action today.

TO ENTER: The Promotion begins 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on October 17, 2011 and ends 6:30 p.m. or when all 100 Free night stay certificates have been given away (“Promotion Period”). On or about October 17, 2011, Sponsor will post a tweet to @HiltonHHonors that announces this Promotion and the opportunity to obtain one free night stay certificate.  To be eligible you must, during the Promotion Period: (1) take a photo of yourself outside any Washington D.C. monument where the monument is clearly visible (2) Tweet the photo mentioning @HiltonHHonors and using the hashtag #HHfreenight (3) arrive at the Hilton Garden Inn at 815 14th Street Northwest Washington, DC, USA 20005 (4) check-in with a HHonors staff member and show proof of a qualifying photo tweeted (either hard copy or on mobile phone) (“Entry†or “Entriesâ€). The first 100 contestants to complete all of these steps will win a Free night stay certificate.

Apparently this is Day One of a five day contest in five different cities giving away 100 free night certificates in each city.

    Seems to kind of rule out Miami and NYC as one of the five cities for the giveaway location this week.

    … or travelers from either of these states to any other worlwide location, if I’m reading it correctly. Perhaps based on state laws?
