A similar deal is also available with Budget:
    http://www.clubcarlson.com/offers/3558672
The Budget deal includes smaller # of points for a one day or two day rental and 9000 points for 3 days.
Budget is likely to be less expensive than Avis.

@Bob – Budget probably is cheaper than Avis in most locations.

    Thanks for posting the link.

So, a category 1 night award per 3 day rental? Too bad they don’t have many hotels in places I plan on visiting.

The conversion to airline miles means you can get 1125 miles per rental at the lowest rate and even more if you save them up for the 50K or 100K thresholds. Much better than 50 miles/day or 500 for 5+ day rentals.

I found it interesting that the cash portion of a Club Carlson cash and points stay earns points. Is that common in hotel programs? Doesn’t seem to be in frequent flyer programs.

  • Ric Garrido September 8, 2011

@Charles – Starwood, Hilton and Priority Club count their Points and Cash nights as award nights and points are not earned for the cash portion paid.

SPG and Priority Club also do not count these stays for elite qualification.
