Earn 19,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points with 5 Hyatt Stays

Hyatt offers Southwest triple rewards points for stays from June 1 – August 31, 2011. The bonus offers 1,800 Rapid Rewards points for each stay with a 10,000 points bonus after the 5th stay. This offer is available for any Hyatt brand hotel worldwide.

Hyatt promotion registration required for Southwest Triple Points.

By the Numbers:

Stay 1: 1,800 points
Stay 2: 1,800 points
Stay 3: 1,800 points
Stay 4: 1,800 points
Stay 5: 1,800 points + 10,000 point bonus

Total: 19,000 Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards points

To participate in this promotion:

  • Register online or by calling 1-800-30-HYATT (provide promotion code WN001).
  • Stay at any Hyatt hotel between June 1 and August 31, 2011.
  • Provide your Rapid Rewards account number at time of check-in.
  • Pay an Eligible Rate during each stay.

FlyerTalk Hyatt Gold Passport forum moderator Peteropny states this promotion can be combined with the current offer for 10,000 points after 5 nights and 5,000 points for each additional two nights through June 30.

Choosing Southwest miles means member does not earn 5 points/$1 for hotel stay, but the 10,000 point bonus after 5 nights with Possibilities promotion is a separate sweep which should allow earning both the Possibilities points bonus and the Southwest points bonus for the same stays through June 30.

FlyerTalk member TooManyBooks estimates 19,000 Southwest points have a value of $317.

Looks like a great double dip points & miles opportunity with Hyatt for the next few weeks. Five one-night stays before the end of June can provide an airline ticket and one or two free hotel nights.

    “Five one-night stays before the end of June can provide an airline ticket and one or two free hotel nights.”

    Hmmm. I already collected the 10,000 GP points for five stays. One more stay and I get another 5k points from the promo. And then another 5k for each two stays. So I guess for me it’s:

    5 stays earn 5000+ 5000 + 5000 GP points + 19,000 Southwest points + five credits towards Diamond renewal.

    HP Fremont next weekend is $71 (advance purchase) + tax when I checked yesterday.

    And while I am not a Southwest flyer, I think I can make use of the points on some short intra-California hop(s) or to Vegas. I think we have a deal.

    Oh, to sweeten the pot, I should also add the 2500 – 5000 points Diamond amenity for the give stays.

    Sounds good. I haven’t been to the Hyatt Place Fremont lately. That hotel on the weekend sure makes these promotions a great value.

    Hilton may deactivate an account after a period of inactivity. Activity can be a hotel stay, earning points from an HHonors pertner, purchase HHonors points ($12.50 to buy 1,000 points) or donate points through HHonors Giving Back program.

    All the programs have rules indicating accounts may be closed and points forfeited for no account activity. Hilton HHonors is the program I have seen more people mention having their accounts closed than any other hotel loyalty program.

    HHonors Terms and Conditions:

    “13.Members who do not have eligible activity as defined in a. – d. below in any 12 consecutive month period may be removed from the Program and are subject to forfeiture of all accumulated points. At the discretion of Hilton HHonors Worldwide, such Members may be permitted to remain in the Program and removed after five years of inactivity. To keep accumulated HHonors points, the Member must take one of the following actions within a 12 consecutive month period:

    a.stay at a hotel within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio pursuant to the terms herein;
    b.earn HHonors points through any third party source of HHonors point accumulation, including a Hilton co-branded credit card, pursuant to its terms;
    c.purchase HHonors points; or,
    d.donate points through The Hilton HHonors Giving Back Program. ”

    Loyalty Traveler is certainly a good place to post a hotel loyalty program comment since that is the focus of my blog.
