Best Western Elites Now Receive 250 Bonus Points or Snack for US/Canada stays

Platinum and Diamond elite members of Best Western Rewards now receive a choice of 250 bonus points or complimentary water and snack at properties in US and Canada. This elite amenity choice is not posted on the Best Western Rewards website that I can find, but according to several FlyerTalk members the new benefit has been around since July 1.

Best Western has been promoting an elite status match offer from any other hotel loyalty program for most of 2010.

Two questions: 1. What level will Best Western match for a Priority Club Platinum?
    2. Does anyone know how long the Best Western status match will last? Will it be valid for all of next year? My wife and I are booked in a Best Western in Valparaiso, Chile in March of next year and would like the possibility of an upgrade there, but wonder if I should hold off on requesting the match until a later date so the “matched” status will still be good in March 2011.

BW just matched my Marriott Gold Elite status to BW Diamond Elite. That’s better than I expected.
