Hotel Loyalty 2010 Spring Promotions Starwood Hotels Starwood Preferred Guest

FlyerTalk Insiders 1,000 points per Starwood Stay in April

Starwood Lurker, aka William R. Sanders, Starwood Hotels online guest feedback coordinator and ten year veteran of FlyerTalk announced in this thread yesterday that Starwood Preferred Guest has a FlyerTalk Insiders promotion for 1,000 points per stay through April 30, 2010. The bonus is good for any Starwood Hotel.

This promotion was specifically posted on FlyerTalk, but there is no restriction to promotion registration. It is not like you need to be a FlyerTalk evangelist to be eligible for 1,000 bonus points per stay. You simply need to be a member of SPG. The registration page only asks for your SPG membership number and email address. Mr. Sanders also stated registration is open to anyone.

Sounds like there might be a gap from April 15 when the 2x, 3x, 4x promotion ends and possibly May 1 before the next SPG promotion begins?

“Typically, we all would be anticipating the annual Freddie Awards at this time of year, and we thought we could use a little excitement to fill the void and bridge the time between “More Nights = More Rewards” and our upcoming 2nd quarter offer.â€

You might also want to take a look at these AAA rate offers being advertised on Starwood Hotels websites.

The promotion code is for either free breakfast or AAA discount. I did not find any real deals with the AAA discount that I didn’t find through a regular search on Starwood for AAA rates. The deals I found were using the AAA breakfast rate. For example, Le Meridien San Francisco came out at $158 when I checked this weekend’s AAA rate, but the room was only $109 with the breakfast-for-two rate. This is a $50 value for Le Meridien’s restaurant breakfast on a rate only $10 more than the prepaid, nonrefundable rate.

The AAA rates were not always the best for the hotel dates I checked, but there are some real room rate gems to be found and there are several hundred participating hotels in the Americas. Check it out.
