Earn a free Starwood Hotels weekend night in Asia for up to a Category 6 hotel after two stays between October 1 to December 31, 2009 at any participating Starwood Hotels in Asia and pay with MasterCard. The two stays do not need to be at the same hotel.
Limit of one free night may be earned during promotion period. Free weekend night (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) may be redeemed from November 1, 2009 through January 31, 2010.
Starwood Preferred Guest members must register online at www.SPG.com/mastercardfreeweekend or by calling their nearest Customer Contact Center no later than December 31, 2009 and requesting Registration Code “MFD“. Registration opens September 15, 2009.
The terms do not specifically state this offer requires registration before the stays. It appears the offer may be valid retroactively for eligible stays during the promotion period.

Advance reservation for Free Weekend Night Award stays is required. All Free Weekend Night Award reservations must be made directly through a Starwood Customer Contact Center.

Free weekend night is not transferrable to another SPG member.
There are only three Category 6 hotels currently in Asia-Pacific region including the Westin Tokyo, Sheraton Full Moon Resort in the Maldives, and Le Meridien Iles des Pins in New Caledonia.
Australia currently has all top end Starwood Hotels at Category 4. I expect some Australian hotels may see category increases next year when properties are revaluated for 2010 points redemption. The Australian dollar lost a lot of ground last year, but has made substantial gains in the past 6 months against the US Dollar.
